  • This was popped and poured and right out of the bottle it was quite disappointing. Very confected, disjointed and goopy. Probably would have rated it around 78-80 on that showing. Decided to keep it for the next day and while it was still not great there was a marked improvement. The red fruit was a lot less candyesque and the oak and alcohol had integrated somewhat. Notes of chocolate on the mid palate and a clipped finish. Terrible value at $30 and ceertainly not a wine i would buy again. This will never be a really good wine in my opinion but I think with 5+ years in the cellar this will eventually come around and be OK. Overall this has to go down as a pretty poor effort from Ramian.

  • Over oaked, hot, flabby. Its like the wine maker just tried to do to much with too little.

  • Raw, green, unintegrated effort. Harsh tannins, sharp finish. This wine needs some direction. Maybe some time in the cellar will even things out? But I cannot recommend for $30.

  • Cabernet Finale (Wine Exchange. Orange, CA): Drank as part of a Cab Sauv tasting and it had been decanted for several hours. Very rich heavy smell--almost burnt fruit. Good concentration up front, but fades quickly (length around 15 secs). Vegetal. Medium-high tannins. Would like to see more complexity, length, and overall oomph.
