Camille Giroud Cellar Visit and Tasting (Beaune): Popped and poured at Giroud. Dense black fruit and meaty spice that comes across as exciting on the nose, but backward and even ponderous on the palate. A rare Gevrey that is 100% whole cluster. Not really providing much pleasure today, this is a wine to cellar and forget for another decade. David opened this because earlier we were discussing the Chateau from which the wine came. The open question is how/ when this will integrate?

Nose:
Raw fermenting fruit, like inside winery
Palate:
Specific fruit, but can't pinpoint. Still tannic, one of our favorites
