Horrible wine. Tasted over 2 days, from the bottle, using the Vinturi, and then the decanter. Overly tannic, bitter with very little fruit hiding behind all that. Perhaps a bad bottle? (so not going to score).

I'm excited if this is any indication for the future of Michigan red wines. This is the first good quality red from this producer. Nice nose of some tart cherry, holiday spices. Initially, a little acidic with some warmth on the finish. After a half hour of air, this became a very integrated wine with firm tannins, good integration of acidity. This would be quite food friendly. Impressive for the price.

Decent nose. Strawberry, cherry, and plum which quickly is overtaken by dry oak.

Chateau Grand Traverse Winery Visit (Old Mission Peninsula, Michigan) (Old Mission Peninsula, Michigan): Tasted at the winery. This was one of the better Pinot Noir's that we tried in the area. Aged for 18 months in small French oak barrels. Round texture. Smooth character with moderate oak and cherry notes. 86 points.
