A real find: rambunctious and playful but with just enough discipline to keep things in line! Light bodied but a powerful package of raspberry fruit. Great balance and acidity -- and A very slight touch of bitterness in the finish -- keeps it fresh in the mouth and begging one to take another sip. Not as loud as some blaufrnkirsch I've had from Austria -- definitely lighter on its feet and more delicate. A satisfying wine that can go head to head with a young Chinon or a village Burgundy. I guess the Finger Lakes are challenging Washington state as America's Lemberger capital. Also, it's amazing that at 5 and a half years old it's so youthful.
