Not decanted, although that probably would have helped this come together. Reductive but lively cherry fruit is at the forefront, with neutral oak giving some leathery spicy accents and structure. While still enjoyable, I suspect that the 16.2% alcohol will always stick out, and this one was just a bit cough syrupy.
Josh's wines can be intriguing and delicious when given the cellar time and air they need; I'm not sure what the future looks like for this particular one, though.

Decanted ~3 hours, consumed over 1 hour. Slightly porty, otherwise similar to my note from 5/22. Needs quite a bit of time...which apparently I knew back in May but forgot in the interim.
