Big level of hype around this wine given it cleaned up several major wine shows as a $16 wine. Plus, being from the Hilltops region at this price is also unusual. At first glance this wine did not impress: simple, relatively sweet and one-dimension. However, a 24hr spell worked wonders and on the second night the wine showed some attractive ripe cherry fruit, mild pepper, and a nicely tingly sherbet from the acid. In other words far more appropriate for a Hilltops wine. No dubt this is very attractive but still, at least to my tastes, relatively simple and sweet.
