  • A very characteristic nose of peppermint or something like that - also one day later. Would not buy again - in my opinion not worth the money.

  • Really diverging notes on this one.I decanted and aired the wine over 3 hours.Nose was not too bad, medium red toned fruit/berriness with a slightly floral touch. On the palate light to medium bodied, somehow disjointed with some unripe, slightly austere fruitiness and floral aromas.I did not find any obvious oak,but I guess the austerity was oak related. This was clearly better on its own than with food.Seemed to improve as well with time.Nothing I would buy again, though.

  • Just after the opening the wine seemed a bit effervescent and also quite disjointed as a whole. I had one glass and kind of forgot it on the kitchen counter. A day later I placed the bottle in the fridge and forgot it there. Now five days later I decided to taste it, just to see if I should even hold it for cooking.
The nose is much fruitier and aromatically the wine has managed to articulate itself: the first nonspecific dark fruit has turned to cassis, blackberry and plum. Also almost medicinal notes of liquorice and herbs - something I expect to see in PV. The toasty oak is still quite big but it isn't giving those awkward cappuccino notes anymore.
Full-bodied on the palate with low acidity, integrated tannins and concentrated fruit with also some sweetish red cherry and raspberry notes. The aftertaste is meat, spices and pencil shavings (with the emphasis more on the wood than the graphite).
So all these days later this is not half as bad as it first was. It now even reminds me of some modern young Medocs (the kind of Medocs that I'm not a fan of). Anyway, I recommend a looong decant.

  • ChTR kokous 3.2.2010 (SKO-toimisto): Decanted for an hour, tasted double blind. Quite a dark red with a violet edge to it. Oh boy, this is an oak bomb. So much toasty oak that it obscures any fruit on the nose, maybe a bit of plum coming through. Much the same on the palate, oak oak oak. Very soft and velvety, no acidity, flabby and quite sweet. Petit Verdot, a new varietal for me, but unfortunately I got no feel for it as the oak just dominated this wine. 50+4+7+13+6=80
