Pleasantly surprised after taking chance on a very old bottle. Cork was almost saturated but still firm. Color like honey, medium gold. Smokey nose. Apricot and peach with tartness of green granny smith apples with butterscotch finish. Matched well with stuffed tomatoes followed by assorted Swiss cheeses.

STG does White Burgundy and a bonus Cabot tasting (Gig Harbor, WA): I left this for last, as I assumed it would be dead. Very deep golden color made me think it had to be shot. That said, while quite mature, it was actually lovely, mature, but more freshness remaining than I expected.

A perfect chablis. Crisp, clean, steely, light finish. The depth was a bit shallow but that was its only weakness.
