Ruby eyed, clear, a bit funky with nose of ham, leather, light ashen earth, over cranberry and cherry. Similar to other 04's of nearby provenance, it seems the vintage and the corner of the area are showing themselves across appellations. Not as purple as one might think of Aloxe; certainly 04 is fading, drink now. A bit disappointed in this wine, as it is a decent producer. Again, not great vintage. Yet, it satisfies and is enjoyable, correct. There's that moss note I get in some Burgundies, either as some age, or even some young (Lambrays), lends some funk, I like. Drink up.
