Decanted for about 30 minutes. Medium indigo color with a reddish rim, fairly clear, dark but not all that dense. OK aroma throws off lots of tobacco and pencil lead, some perfume, some plum, some cassis, a bit of coffee. Currant hits the palate first with cofee bean, lightly coating, gives way to a bit of cassis first, then to some chocolate and some white pepper, a bit of blackberry, oh so light tannins, leading to a really nice blackberry peppery finish with a hint of pencil. This was showing more CS when I tasted it in SB eight months ago, now the other two elements are coming through. Who knew Central Coast bordeaux blends could be this good? And will Doug ever make more?
