  From a quarter bottle left over from a tasting. This has been open for 24 hours (without a cork or stopper) and its still going strong. Wow! This is an amazing mature Chateauneuf, its silky smooth with no tannin left at all. Made in a really classic style, this wine has notes of red fruit, a note of game and a tiny bit of mint. I would say this is currently at its peak.

  Starting to smell slightly oxidized. Behind that there is roasting meat and black olives as well as grilled herb switches and baked black cherries. Still delightful on the palate! Silky smooth with a gentle tug of tannin and acidity on the finish, this has more cherry fruit, spice and a little animale. This bottle is clearly past its prime, but still kicking. 88
