  There are some red wines that should only be had with dinner because they are so boring on their own. And then there are red wines which offer a really nice experience in the glass and don't need food. This wine is in the latter category. A nice experience in the glass - I give it a 90 because I would happily drink this on its own a second time. But it would definitely not merit anything beyond the 90.
