  • The nose has strawberry and cherry notes, grape seeds, cream. Smells nice. Light bodied on the palate with a medium intensity, lots of tannin and acidity showing. The fruit flavors are on the sour side, quite clean and well made overall. Would be better as a food wine than on it's own. Tart fruit lingers in a finish that drys the mouth out.

  • Bright cherry scents and lots of funk show on the nose along with some orange peel and light nutmeg. The flavors are light and delicate across the board. Everything is very clean on the start, and very ripe cherry flavors show gently on the mid palate. Some cloves show up on the finish, and everything wraps up with balance. 88+

  • Tasting at Arcane Cellars: Their tasting notes:
"Produced from low-yield vines from select vineyards in the Willamette Valley, this Pinot Noir was aged for 12 months in 100% French oak and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Characteristic Aromas of black cherry and raspberry give way to flavors of red currants and vanilla. Further complexity comes across in aromas of cloves, forest floor, smoke and black pepper.
608 cases produced. Release date: November 2008.

My notes: Some earthiness, red unripe fruit. Still too tight at this point. Some bitterness at the end? 'O7 requires more time in the cellar.

  • Memorial Day Weekend Wine Tour (Eola-Amity Hills): The nose is nice with funky dusty pinot fruit. Despite this, the fruit is very light on the palate. The acidity is nice, but there's a bit much heat, and all of the other flavors are very faint.
