  This was fine, well-made and 'straight ahead', to use the term. Nothing wrong with this at all, and it was still fine under vacuum 3 days later. Pleasant on its own and with food, just nothing too exciting. It didn't help that it was opened alongside and blown away by an aged Castell del Remei Costers del Segre Gotim Bru.

  At opening:
  Smell red fruit, strong but not overpowering.
  Tastes ...meh. Not quite a fruit bomb but seems to be trying to be. Bitter aftertaste.

  Red fruit is more apparent, cherries show through.
  taste is similar but mellowed. Leaves my mouth wanting more. Aftertaste is smooth, lingering.
  
  Paired very well with a good filet mignon, Neither overpowers the other.
  
  Scores low because of the poor complexity. Not to be unexpected with a sub $10 wine. Probably won't age fantastic but the mix may do well.
