  • Purplish/Red color, not quite either. Something like maroon.
Aromas of blackberry pie and some spice with a little bit of alcohol.
Light body but mouth filling. Fresh tasting, tannins are mellowed. Easy to drink with the flavor of briary fruit. Lots of flavor, yet easy to go back for another sip. Very nice.

  • Much better than the previous btl. Nice ripe somewhat jammy black cherry fruit, kirsch, black pepper, some cough syrup. Black pepper is strong in the finish. While not my style this is a good example of the varietal. Worked great with Mexican food on the grill.

  • Meh. Worked well for sautéing mushrooms. A decent BBQ/burger quaffer but not much more. Huge headache after this wine, but could just be coincidence.

  • I was impressed with the two bottles we opened. A previous bottle was just ok. These were quite tasty. Nice fruit, soft yet supple. It had enough backbone to hold up to smoked turkey and sausages and all the fixings. Best zin we had with dinner. Although, we had some other aged zins - 2007 Wild Hog Talmadge Vineyard from Mendocino was more delicate but elegantly tasty. The 2006 Ravenswood Tadelshi was also still drinking well. The big over the top fruit had softened but still there to provide a real treat. Zin and smoked food night a success

  • Definite bottle variation and at EOL of this wine.
This drank night and day better than the previous bottle. Wasn't wowing, but definitely very tasty and hit the spot with BBQ. Slight jamminess and some oak- that was ok for me tonight. Very fruit forward and a medium finish.
