  • Not a whole lot going on with the nose. Fruit is subtle, with cherry from the grenache, combined with other red berry flavors. Tannins are very light. Hits a slightly sour note on the early finish. Nice, but the alcohol is a little heavy, affecting the balance. Good, but not a compelling repeat buy.

  • This had a lovely earthy nose. On the palate it was smooth and fruity but with a good presence. There was some decent body and length, much better than I feared from this vintage. Perhaps it lacked some depth or complexity, or maybe it needed a half hour decant or so to open up but it would be interesting to try a wine by this producer from a so-called decent year. (dec ’07)
