Cork crumbled on extraction, but the wine inside seems fine. Definitely mellowed since my only other (half) bottle from 2015, unsurprisingly. Medium (+) ruby to garnet. Smells like dark fruits, potpourri, cedar, dry leaves, black tea, lemon, orange peel. Nice. Light to medium body, medium acid and finish, with flavors of red and black fruits, lemon, orange, spice, and minerals. Interesting to have tracked this one at a couple of points and see the difference; I prefer this one, though I suspect this is too tired for many.

This has gone a bit downhill from my last bottle. Cedar and eucalyptus on the nose. Fruit dominates the palate, along with some cedar. This grows more astringent the longer it’s open, so I suggest a pop and pour. Don’t decant.
