Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Complex nose with loads of coffee and black pepper, dark cherry and freshly cut grass but also plenty of dried spices.
Medium body with plenty of dark cherry fruit left with still a lingering sweetness without being overdone. The tannin are sweet and almost polished but interlaced with a quite impressive acidity that keeps going into a med-long aftertaste. There is however also a little bit of alcohol bite in the aftertaste with ruines the impression. The wine is however still fresh and interesting. Some very nice bitter Dark chocolate on the mid-palate!

As a side note, I am not sure of if this is actually the riserva? It was bought as one but it does not say so on the bottle. According to the producer website the Montefante is however always a riserva.
