  • A bit of a surprise. I was expecting something almost undrinkable, but what I got was a pretty good inexpensive pinot.

Popped and poured. The wine has a very translucent look in the glass. A bit different then the fuller density California pinots that I've been drinking. The nose reminded me of a Sea Smoke Botella from the same vintage (weird)....black cherry and earth. Taste was dominated by raspberry, to the point that I was starting to get a bit sick of it halfway thru my 2nd glass. As the finish quickly leaves you, you are left with a strong taste of pineapple.

I still have about half a bottle left, that I will hopefully revisit the next day.

Overall, this is not a wine I would buy again, but for the price point I thought it was quite good.

  • A slight brown tinge to the red reminiscent of something a bit more Burgundian – yet "thin" looking in color & texture. The nose was weak cherry & raspberry with a slight earthy smell. The most intensity came from the alcohol. The "thin" theme continued on the palate; weak fruit taste, balanced until the bitter finish. I would not buy this wine again, regardless of price.
