The wine looks deep, opaque ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry jam , black currant (cassis), dust, coffee and fig. It tastes like dark cherry, prune, fig, black currant (cassis) and rich dark cocoa. The body is medium/full. The wine has polished tannins which feel silky toward the end of the finish. Medium body and luscious mouthfeel. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium-minus acidity. May age in bottle a little longer but has evolved to perfection at this point.

Dark red, perfumed nose of smokey black cherry, stewed plums, cigar box, tobacco leaf and hints of pencil shavings, dark on the palate with layered black and red fruits, mineral streaks and some heat, medium length finish with medicinal and earthy notes on the fading fruit

Despite its age, needed three hours of decanting to open up... so somehow still needs about five more years. Perfect with London broil... rich, complex, enough merlot blended to bring fruit forward a bit, while maintaining great structure.

Still extremely structured and tannic at this point. Needs decanting. Beastly and dark, inky black color. The huge backbone notwithstanding, the fruit is unexpectedly subtle. Blackberry bramble mixed with some grapefruit bitterness.

Cork. 14.5% alc.
Cassis, cedar, cherry, leather, dark chocolate. Medium bodied, completely resolved. Drinking well tonight, but probably at its peak.
