  • Gave most of these away but glad I had some of this final bottle. Really lovely superT. nice blend of traditional and international wine making. Round, effusive and enjoyable (merlot) with laser beams of black cherry and perfect acidity (Sangiovese). Beauty now. Wishing I had more.

  • A disappointment at best. The cork was nearly impossible to remove, it broke at mid-pull and seemed very dry. I successfully removed it without any sediment falling into the bottle. An inauspicious start led to more bad tidings. The nose seemed flat and lifeless showing little red or black fruit. Gulping a mouthful left me a little satisfied with some smoke, spice with a fairly weak black fruit finish. I probably think I should have opened this at an earlier date and (maybe) could have achieved a better result. Lessons to be learned.....

  • Big tertiary nose of forest floor, leaves and remnants of dried fruit and some menthol. Palate is interesting, muted sour cherry, plum currant and vanilla. Either fading or was never that big in the first place. Not sure aging will improve this, but it can hold. Reminds me of in older Cru Bourgeois Margaux from an older vintage like 96 just without the concentration

  • Opened this to put in a red sauce. I mistakenly thought this was sangiovese-based, but one whiff corrected my ignorance. This is a somewhat brooding, wood-driven, very polished, internationally styled Bx-blend (Cab/Merlot). Not sure of the cepage here but the merlot seems dominant and this is a dead ringer for a mid-level Roland-influenced Right Banker. While not really my style, there is no denying that it is silky, elegant, tasty, and hedonistic. Chocolate and vanilla. Would probably be best with beef tenderloin. Certainly there is nothing here that speaks of Italy, but this will certainly entertain the crowd. Tannins are soft and round; this is a pointe now and in the zone.
