Still drinking well, but might be on the way out. Fruit was a little muted even after a couple hours in the decanter. If you are holding on to some of this, I'd say open it up.

Nose of bright red fruit (very intense), menthol, a hint of green, and mixed spices. It has a silky texture with more red fruit, cola, and pepper. Very nicely balanced. Not complicated but delicious.

On the nose, big black cherry with a touch of cassis, tobacco, dried herbs, and menthol. Also quite a bit alcohol. On the palate, very ripe black and red fruits. Almost cooked. Tannins have calmed down and there is a touch of green pepper on the backend. Very boozy - burns on the way down. Nice wine but not as good as I my last set of notes make me believe.

Predominantly Merlot (63%) with remainder Cab. Tasted next to the '06 Foxen Merlot. This Bordeaux blend has always been a favorite of mine from Foxen. The nose exhibits blueberry and blackberry and a hint of dried herbs. On the mouth it is balanced and smooth with a medium-long finish. It's nice now but could use some proper cellar time.
