  • Deep ruby tending to garnet in color. Nose opens with herbal mossy aromas but evolves to something more floral after an hour. Bright red raspberry and a hint of cherry on the palate. Medium finish. We picked this up when we visited Mt. Veeder in 2009. This is really hitting its stride right now. Yates is a medium sized property but they are largely Farmer's with much of their fruit being sold to others. They do make a few cases under their own label. This was very nice.

  • Great showing for this bottle. Somewhat muted, perfumed nose of dark fruit. Dark color. Well balanced dark fruit on the palate, moderate acidity. Medium long finish.

  • Taste at Elysian.
Creamy creme de cassis nose sporting some leather and wet slate.
Lots of yummy ripe berry aromas and on the palate as well.
Super ripe and perfumey. Little signs of light smoke and white pepper.
Medium finish. Very nice and lush.
