Lots of life left. Very dark wine with earthiness, dark chocolate and tobacco. Nice tannin and acidity keep it interesting. Got a green herbal streak by the 3rd day.

Annual Thanksgiving blind tasting for my wife's cousins of an affordable, moderate and high priced wine. This bottle was the high priced wine for the tasting. It was up against an 08 Stags' Leap Cab and 06 Pride Cab. Decanted a couple hours prior to drinking. Definitely the best Hall I've ever had (06 Kathryn Hall WAS my favorite). Wonderfully dark berry and cocoa aromas. Flavors to match in addition to currant and a hint of toasty oak. Great structure with mouth coating tannins that carried the flavors on for a finish that wouldn't quit. Definitely the consensus WOTN easily overshadowing the also good Pride and the woeful Stags' Leap.

Oldest Hall we had.
Deep dark color.
Should decant 2 hours.

Had as a gift on my birthday. Excellent wine and structure although I feel like we may have hit this a couple years too early. Just a massive wine.

Soft purple hue belies the big, extracted flavor. Decant.
