Given how open this was at the winery 16 months ago, and that it is a 2003, I was very surprised to see that it has now taken on a character more serious and more representative of the great Sommerberg Grand Cru. Green tinged in the glass, this medium bodied wine was showing as a very young and steely Riesling filled with minerality and a dry palate. I'm sorry I opened my only bottle now. 50+11+11+7.5+7.5 = 87

Tasting at Albert Boxler (Niedermorschwihr, Alsace, France): Light yellow in color, this wine is open for business now. Apples, peaches and minerals are all there in this medium bodied wine. Not one for long aging but should drink really well over the next several years.
