  • Well, this has certainly come a long way. From memory after a long evening of consumption, I was pretty pleased with this. Darker golden hue, with a nice nose. I don't remember the specifics of the fruit profile, other than there was a range of nice tropical fruits and nuts. Only medium weight and moderate concentration (I expected bigger/heavier), but this showed good complexity and a pretty long finish. Didn't blow anyone away, but was certainly pleasing and had most folks going back for more. If I can wait another 9 years I'm sure the next one will be even better...

  • Medium amber color. Nose of dried fig, brown sugar, honey, and apricot. Palate is full of honey, apricot, date, and fig. There's plenty of acid buffering the residual sugar here. This delivers what I would expect from a botrytis-affected wine and, as is typical, seems ageless. It does not have a lot of complexity, but does have a very long finish. Drink or hold.

  • Rich golden hue. Nose of candied apricots. On the palate, straightforward flavors of cling peaches and apricots. Very little complexity or nuance -- totally monolithic. I'm not experienced at all with dessert wines, but this left me totally underwhelmed, particularly for a high-end wine from a major producer in a supposedly very strong year. Am I missing something? Second day: modestly more complexity, but still very underwhelming.
