  • This is a wine made by Austrian Hans Schwarz...with a little help from Alois Kracher. I believe its a blend of Chardonnay and Grüner Veltliner. It says "Dessert Wine" but it is not. It is very dry. Golden yellow in color. Wonderful honeysuckle, hazelnut butter, vanilla oak spice, peaches and pears. Reminds me of a SQN Roussanne blend. Intense in the mouth...rich peach/pear/fig fruit....floral white honey, match strike, toasted hazelnut butter. But, MAN...has some serious harshness! High alcohol burn(says only 15%?), and intense mineral acidity...peppercorns heat. This wine was doing very well...till the GV showed up! I think the Grüner Veltliner brings this wine to too much harshness. Wants to be lush and Rhoney...but it's kicked in the teeth by the minerals and acid of the GV. The wine is not a loss...it still is interesting....but, yea, I see why the say "dessert wine"....you need to treat this like an aperitif.
