Still fresh, opened and left in bottle for 2 hours, could have done with more air. But it was still powerful and expressive. Drank next to the DRC La Tache 71 and it held its own and towards the end of dinner may even hve crept up to the DRC

Beautiful, aged Burgundy with a perfume of roses, tea, soy and celery. Fine and lacy in the mouth with good intensity and harmony. A wine of ethereal beauty.

The 1949 Leroy Clos Vougeot was a cracker. Full sweet and generous, studded with meat, earth and iron. It built in the glass with a liqueur cherry heart that intensified as she sucked in more air.
