  • All I can say about this is WOW! Completely blown away. Popped and poured this last night also for my birthday dinner with friends who know a bit about wine. Once I tasted it my immediate reaction was to smile, laugh and clap my hands, it was that good. A previous bottle (different wine from Bouchard but '61) from the same Christies auction lot, was a bit of a disappointment so I didn't have high expectations for this. So fruit - strawberry, elegance, balance, with what seemed like lite acidity, made this a delightful wine to drink. Everyone thought it was the wine of the night, and it kept getting better in the bottle as the night went on. It went up, not down, and all my other '62's that night went down (Haut Brion, Lafite, and Cos). Again, wish I had more of this and also partly wish I had saved it now so Timothee could have tasted it since he was with me the day of the auction.....

  • Just a little oxidised but a tasty drink none the less. It was dense, sweet and vinous with some brown sugar notes sneaking in. There was a touch of beef stock and earth and the finish was soft and long.
