This bottle of the Remirez de Ganuza was quite a bit better than the last - a reminder of the huge bottle variation that can exist in Rioja. Still a bit of Brett with the consequent drying tannin but in this case well adjusted. Sour cherry and dried cranberry. Unlike the last bottle, possessing a reasonably supple mid palate. Tannins of course fully resolved at this point. The acid has lasted longer than the tannin which leads to a thin finish, but again a fun wine with which to introduce the assembled company to tertiary evolution.
