  Somewhat tight nose - needs a little coaxing, then brings some light raspberry at first. A little breathing time really changed the nose dramatically and some very intriguing earth notes started coming out with hints of dry dirt, mushroom, and chalk coming through. In the mouth it comes off a little hollow up front but ramps up on the palate and finishes strong with an almost crescendo of full smokey and earthy flavor, and a wave of peppery spice. Very intriguing wine - kind of shy at first but rich in complexity if offered a little patience. My suggestion is to decant for an hour or so.
