Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • The wine is clear and bright with a deep garnet colour.

The nose is clean and developing, showing pronounced intensity aromas of oak (cedar, coconut, vanilla, cocoa, tobacco, clove), bottle ageing (game, mushrooms), fruit development (cooked plums, cooked cherries) and pungent spices (liquorice).

The wine is dry in the mouth with a medium acidity. It has medium fine-grained tannins and a medium(+) slightly warm alcohol. It has a medium(+) body and pronounced intensity flavours of oak (cedar, coconut, vanilla, cocoa, tobacco, clove), bottle ageing (game, mushrooms), fruit development (cooked plums, cooked cherries) and pungent spices (liquorice). The finish is long.

It is an outstanding quality wine. It has a lingering finish and very concentrated flavours, a nice balance between alcohol and tannins and it shows a lot of complexity provided by oak and bottle ageing notes.

Can drink now, but it has enough tannic structure to develop a bit more of complexity over the next 2-3 years.
