One of the reasons we collect wine is to hit the occasional homer. This is it. Vibrant yellow but not oxidezed. Nose of tangerine, coconut and butterscotch. Viscous mouthfeel, sweet but so well integrated it is more of sense of sweetness than sweet taste. Umami feel like soy sauce, plenty of coconut, tangerine and orange marmalade flavors. Acidity that keeps it fresh and coming on the tongue. The oilyness often seen in aged Rieslings has resolved with "more" age. Oodles of length, minutes, it just goes on and on. I am going to rate it classic, probably as close as I have come to one.

A fabulous wine, quite youthful despite almost 7 years of age. There is a touch of yellow gold to the hue and the nose is primarily of orange, citrus. Flavors of orange marmalade, a hint of petrol, clove and ginger. Obviously sweet, but no cloyingly so, this wine matched well with Copper River Salmon. Acidity is there, but not lazerlike, it is definitely mellow, as are some slate notes.
