  • Oyster tea party at Chateau Davyd. Tasted blind. Not a wine to be aired with oysters by the way.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, yellow gold colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aros of lemon curd, nuts and honey, integrated toast oak. Creme brulee and buttered popcorn with more air. Developed.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), fatty medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of fatty rich lemon curd, ripe peaches, stone fruits, salty butter, some finishing stony minerals. Lots of nuts and honey with air. Long finish.
Very good quality. Quite clearly an aged Meursault 1er to me. Thankfully not premoxed! Drink up and enjoy.

  • Pale yellow, clear

    Pronounced aroma
Cream and burnt milk skins/nuttiness (toasted cashew?)
    Apricot
    Apples
    Lemon, lemon peel, bitter pith

    Dry
    Med+ body
    Med+ alcohol 14%?
    Med+ finish, apricots and honey
    Med acidity
Tastes as it smells, bitter on the back palate, much more zesty than juicy (more peel than lemon)
    Slight oak tannins

This is a big, bold wine. The alcohol needs some time to settle down in glass.
