  Exquisite. This was a bottle we bought at the winery in Italy in 2004 and brought home in a carry-on bag. Tonight we removed it from our 56 degree wine fridge, opened, poured 1/4 glass to create some room in the bottle, and let it breathe and come to room temperature over about 2 hours. What happened after that was magical. The wine, which I had feared we had let go over the cliff in our cellar, was still going quite strong. The nose was that fabulous earthy, smoky thing that you only get from old-world wines with a little age on them. The palate was full and complex, with a great full mouthfeel and more smoky notes. Super long finish. Four of us drank this over 90 minutes (in addition to the 2 hours breathing in the bottle), and by the end it was fading just a touch. Overall, I loved the wine and I'm delighted with our decision to buy it in 2004 and open it tonight.

  it was a very typical tuscan wine.. smooth, drank well on it's own. I would buy and look forward to drinking again.
