  • Italian Reds Night at Casa T&D (Casa T&D): Crushed cherry pits, licorice, muddled mint, white pepper, delicious!, a little like a sugar daddy, somewhat waxy, too. 92 pts.

Others at the same tasting offered these comments --
-Raisins, alcohol, good aftertaste, tannic, peppery
-Chianti Ruffino?, Black cherry, white pepper, bouquet lasts and lasts
-Mint, currant, licorice, cherry, pepper, smooth, #1
-Brown-red again, Dirt, mud, mint, great legs, chewy, smooth and delicious
-Ladies perfume, very strong a bit too much, nice flavor with food, earthy flavors
-Earthy smell, sweet, fruity, 'cheap like a stunt', some pepper in the smell, best so far
-Earthy, hint of mint, but it was fleeting
    -Isopropryl nose, very dry

  • Nice bouquet of coffee, berries and a hint of earthiness. Very fruit forward -- the fruit packs a punch. Wine opens up with strong tannins and a nice smooth finish. Probably jumped the gun on this one a bit, but still very tasty. Give it another year or two and it'll probably be even better!

  • Decanted for one hour. This is progressing very nicely with blk cherry and smoked bacon/ham on the nose. The palate is again blk cherry extract, silk tannins, medium body. The long finish has some very nice mineral notes that are now coming through. Went very nicely with fettuccine alfredo.

  • Decanted for 5 hrs. This was singing! The color showing a bit more age as it is slightly more brick than ruby. Intense nose that follows with great depth on the palate. Similar profile to the last bottle but showing definite black cherry both on the nose and palate. Intense flavors along with a long long finish. Had with Veal Osso Buco and pasta....match made in heaven.

  • Pretty much the same TN's as last time I had this: Medium ruby color, it amazes me how light barolo can be. Beautiful nose, I again got that nice smoky bacon nose mixed with nice dark fruit. 6 months have seem to done this good as the tannins are more integrated. Still very nice dark fruit on the palate with earthy undertones. The finish very nice and loooooong. Had with past and chicken cutlet with a home made red sauce.....MMMMmmmmmmm. I may have gave this a point more than it deserved first time round but this is excellent never the less.
