Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Got this from a private cellar for like $30 so why not. I always associate Andrew Rich with Ken Wright (I mean they share the same space) stylistically- big and bold, decent amount of new oak, neither of which is my thing, but can be fun with age. This felt still surprisingly young and fruity, and still had quite a bit of tannin that was resolved in the sense of moving towards a black raspberry zone and getting a bit finer in texture. Something about it still felt chunky to me, maybe wanting a bit for acid. Always interesting to try an older WV wine though!
