I think this has passed peak now. Still drinking ok, but I think on the downslope at this point, and will look to drink my last sooner than later.
Still a dense, purplish ruby color, opaque at the center. Smells like cassis, blackberry, blueberry, strong graphite, and violet. Medium body, acid, and finish, with flavors of similar fruits and graphite minerality. Worked fine with a delicious prime steak dinner, but drink 'em if you got 'em!

Can't say I've had much malbec in a while, but this is certainly up there with the examples in somewhat recent memory. While clearly new world in constitution, it's not over the top (IMO), and the delicious factor is quite high.
Opaque black coloring with purplish ruby edges. Aromas of cassis, blackberry, blueberry, lemon, graphite, leather, violet, and a bit of oak. Full body, high acid, long finish, and flavors of largely following suit with the dark fruits, lemon, and graphite minerality. Bigger style wine for grilled or braised meats; perfect with our braised short ribs tonight.

Wonderful aromatics on the nose with leather, spice, oak, vanilla and a certain earthiness that blows off after a few minutes. On the palate it is all sharp acids and tannin with the fruit dropping out. Some tobacco and leather notes but the finish is a bit astringent. Pairs well with food but on its own is a little harsh.
i think this wine is past its prime. But, judging by the number of bottles still in people's cellars I would appear to be in the minority. Good luck to you - this is my only bottle. At 12 years old I would have expected something with more depth and interest, even if it was still "young".

(Monteviejo Lindaflor Malbec) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-amazing vanilla and black currant action; smells like a delicious dessert; very creamy; PALATE-this has explosive juiciness; like chocolate covered maraschino cherries; this has a delicious factor and is very big; a MASSIVE wine, however the fruit a juiciness is delightful; very smooth; great wine for Thanksgiving; really structured and powerful; would benefit from an hour or two of decanting; this is SPECTACULAR; will last 10-15 years; JM-92+; ST-93; GV-93/94
(Monteviejo Lindaflor Malbec) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-dark; some plum; not too oaked; PALATE-the best by far; Tanzer is so on the money; has the minerality; quite dry; I love the black tea; great structure; silky; great balance; this wine is Spectacular; really well made and Bordeaux-like; JM-92; ST-93; GV-92+
