Lovely crimson translucent colour, typical of youthful burg. To the nose: earthy and a little gamey, reminiscent of the barnyard. Field berries are present as well. To the tongue: A surprising tannic grip, this wine is a little tense...needs to loosen up a bit, a nap of at least 2 more years will help, and it definitely has the structure to handle the siesta. Fruit is there but in the background offering hints of strawberry. I would reccomend a decant of at least 2 hours to enjoy this wine now. A wonderful wine for the price.

  • At a Burgundy tasting: This has a bit of a dirty, barnyard nose (maybe a bit of brett going on here).. there is a bit of sour cherry in there within all the mossy, foresty stuff going on. A nice finish here with a little gaminess. I think this is good, but especially for under $25 Cdn. The acidity is pretty godd, but this is not as fresh as I'd expected.. maybe '07 is a little early-drinking for Beaune.. I don't know.
