Mid-gold. Quite a tight masculine bouquet: cedar, hazelnuts, paraffin. Oily yet light texture: similar to a Meursault. Searing grapefruit acidity balanced (just!) against rich, tingling honey. Long sweet and sour finish. Not as refined or fragrant as the 2009 Kalkofen drunk on the same day.

Riesling de Pfalz, algo subido de color y con un perfil olfativo más esquivo. Aparece cerrado y necesita algo de aireación para dar paso a notas de cítricos maduros y una marcada mineralidad que incluye algo de "asfalto". En boca tiene buen ataque, el paso es cremoso, estructurado, con buena acidez, afilado y con profundidad. Para guardar!

tasted blind - nose: initially quite wild and difficult to identify, the wildness goes away with oxygen, taste: lime, salt, long, strong acid structure, may improve or at least be on the same level for some time, worked great with food (91+ initially, 93 with food)
