  • Big strawberry-Rhubarb nose. Tannic and bitter. Best I can say is it wasn't a horrible pinot for under $20. Not very good, though, either.

  • I wouldn't call this wine the wine of the night, but I would most certainly call it the surprise of the night. Buying wine off the supermarket shelf is always a hit or miss experience. You don't know how long they have been sitting there. What are the storage conditions, etc. Supermarket wines generally don't amount to much. This one is the exception. I bought a few of these because the price was reasonable enough to take a risk and it paid off. After doing some research I found out Solaris is owned by the same company as Sterling Vineyards and BV. I thought this was a great easy drinking wine. Didn't need any decanting. It came right out of the bottle ready to go. Great nose. Easy finish. Strong fruit taste. A great summer pinot for the price. I look forward to the bottlles that are left.
