  • A Bulgarian Bordeaux blend; 30% aged in stainless steel, 70% in mainly old oak barrels.

Slightly matured cherry red color with rather clear rims showing a little bricking. Very enjoyable and balanced nose of ripe cherry, some leather, a little smoke and a hint of ink. Rich, structured and medium-bodied palate with pure, vibrant flavors of dark-toned, cassis-driven fruit, some vegetal blackcurrant leaves, a little spicy oak and a hint of baking spices. Rather smooth, resolved tannins and good, balanced acidity. Surprisingly long, smooth and elegant finish with dry flavors of leather, dark plummy fruit, a little tannic bitterness and a touch of allspice.

A bit simple but surprisingly high-quality Bord-faux for its price of only 9,48€. Honestly, this is surprisingly Bordeaux-like in every aspect and at its price point a real overachiever. A lot better than a great majority of real Bordeaux wines at double the price. I am positively surprised.
