Good Friday night wine swap with the gang. Tasted semi-blind. Drank in Grassl Cru. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of cool earth, underbrush, red cherries, darker red cherries, wild strawberries, licorice, perfumed herb spice. Developed. On the palate, dry, juicy high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), smooth integrated medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of dark red cherries, wild strawberries, cranberries, forest berries, savoury cool earth, salty minerality, licorice, ?crushed herb that we mistake for stems (Taupenot says he uses no stems). Long finish. Very good quality. Lovely nose and smooth palate. Drinking in a good place already now. My guess was 2008 Gevrey 1er, probably one of the cooler plots - ?Champeaux. Turns out to be Bel-Air.

Clear and darker red Intense nose of stable, autumn leaves, earth and various red berries. On the palate the medium intensity present red berries and some subtle tannins. Nice and consistent length.

Only had a taste. Medium red fruit, earthy nose. Light mouthfeel but tightly wound.
