11/4/12: Spiced cranberry, cedar, clay, bright blackberry, plums, blueberry and smoke of carmelized sugar-just as it hits the flame, crackling sugared smoke. Toasted pecans, caramel, light raspberry pie, black cherry, graphite, layered fruit, plenty of backbone on the lengthy finish. Drinking well now through 2018

Red with a slight rusted color. Spices, mulberry, orange peel and white pepper scents are prominent. Bright cherry, mocha and nutmeg flavors are mouth watering. This wine shows polished acids, is well balanced and has plenty of integrated tannins. A dry smooth long finish rounds this complex wine out.

Decanted for a couple hours. Blueberry and chocolate taste with quite a bit of acidity, but still had some pretty strong tannins. Not sure the fruit will stick around while the tannins fade.

Seemed to open up a little better the second day. Not a real aggressive wine.
