Ok, I drank this a year and a half ago and thought it was ok 87-88, it has hit its peak now. Opened flavors of dark berry and soft tannins make this a great buy zin. Drink now and the next year. Go find it, if you are not familiar with Zin. I opened it tonight thinking ok another zin I have to drink before it goes past its prime. Pleasantly surprised and will have to go buy a few more.

Lodi and Contra Costa fruit, old vineyards. 15.5% alc. Medium red-purple. First night the nose and flavors were quite simple, ripe plums, little tannin. On night 2 the wine begins to sing. On the nose, plums, earth, caramel, smoke and some heat. The flavors are much broader and richer: plum and black fruit, coffee, caramel, nutmeg with a little tannin. Some earthiness and gaminess. Sweet fruit and a good 15 second finish. I will drink this wine with delight over the next 2 years. Pretty yummy and well priced at $13/btl.
