Deep and dark with a big aged appearance. The depth is evident on the palate as well here. Lots of deep antiqued red and blackened cherries with soft notes of Indian spices from aging Sangiovese. The finish brings on a bit of tar and petrol, more like what Barolo should be. This has held up better than the 2010 to me. Still, I think its done aging without further benefit for my ideal Brunello cravings. Drink

Interestingly dense nose. On first pour it seemed weak and feeble, but it came together in the glass with a little time. Baked sweet cherries, almond paste, and ripe berrries. The body is surprisingly taut and mouthcoating, with a smooth finesse going down. Just a hint of pepper on the sides of the tongue. Very ripe and excellent with plum and cherries. Lovely, reserved tannins. I disagree with previous raters, this wine still has a lot to give. I would avoid decanting and just let this thing wash over you.

Tastes of ripe cherries; spice and faint clove; mineral on finish. Bright acidity. Big mouth feel; soft tannins. Took a good 2 hours to open up.

Too young to judge. Has potential, just too tight now
