  • First bottle from this producer; purchased in 2009; the cork had a perfect seal; very dark in color; nose is earthy and savory initially showing what I suspect is some syrah/mourvedre notes; with air this opens to show more ripe dark berry fruits and hints of spice; the palate has good concentration and is fairly well balanced; definitely has good structure and the alcohol is not super high as in many Chateauneuf's; the acidity is also more; this held up well over 2 hours and paired well with lamb. It certainly is no where near fading if stored well and the cork is solid. But not likely a ton of upside to cellaring further as it is nicely integrated and tasty.

  • I stand by my previous notes. This was my last bottle and it was thoroughly enjoyable. If you have some, drink up.

  • This is drinking a lot better than the last bottle (5 years ago). Paired it with a stronger fruity salmon dish and it worked well. Tannins are tamed. Still some nice fruit and minerality notes, but now also with some floral as well due to the age. The acidity has held up nicely as well. I am not sure it is going to get any better, probably not, but you could probably enjoy this for at least a year or two to come, maybe more. I have one more and will probably drink up in the next year.

  • Popped and poured. This is a darker red wine with some moderate sediment in the final glass. On the nose, I get red fruit, stones, and a slight bit of alcohol on the back. I kept wondering, where is the garrigue? In the mouth, this is juicy with some modest fruit, leaving a chewy finish with mild tannins. Overall, this wine is okay but is missing the traits I really love about good CdP. 90 points.

  • Popped and poured. This is a medium red wine with a good, virile color. There is not much sediment, but this still carries tongue-staining qualities. On the nose, there is cherry, garrigue, and some scrubland -- the nose is definitely the best part of this wine. In the mouth, this has an array of red fruit, with a moderate level of alcohol and structure. The finish is limited and remains tight. Overall, this is good now but may be better later. Certainly a good QPR that competes with more expensive CdP. 91 points.
