First of ten bottles. 5 cm fill level. No signs of seepage. Decanted just prior to serving. Served slightly too warm. Very pleasant surprise as this wine is obviously holding up just fine. The aromas are, of course, on the tertiary side but show good freshness and complexity at 50 years! The texture is silky soft with barely enough tannin to hold everything together; clearly the very definition of "Charmes". Good length on the finish. This wine not only held up over two hours in the decanter, it actually improved...

Flickinger "Significant Cellar" Tasting (Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Black fruit with dense character, good spice and slightly floral elements. Same flavor profile on palate, somewhat firm that didn't necessarily seem like 100% Pinot Noir.

These bottles were re-corked last year and still haven't fully recovered.
Clearly on the evolved side but holding up.
