  • I am quite amazed how good this bottle of wine tastes. QPR is certainly top 10 ever, maybe even top 5 as I paid just under $20 for it
at Costco in 2009. I've had many $100+ wines that are not nearly as good as this bottle. The bouquet gives impressions of fresh crushed red berry and raspberry fruit mixed with forest pine, baking spices, and a slight graphite note. Black cherry, black raspberry hit you first upon sipping, then it melds into red raspberry, cassis, with notes of pomegranate and cranberry along with black tea, subtle spice, and earthy dust, finishing medium long and silky with lingering red fruit. Tannins are well integrated and there is just the right amount of acidity to keep the wine fresh. This wine is peaking now, if I had another bottle (3rd and last, 1st one was also really great, 2nd one not quite), I'd drink it in the next year or so for best results. Stored in temp controlled cellar since purchase.

  • Wow, what a lovely wine. Beautiful aromas of red fruits, pencil lead, forest floor with some vanilla wood notes too. The wine bursts forward on the pallette with intense fruit characterized by tart raspberry that evolves into Bing cherry on the mid-pallette before transitioning back to raspberry on the finish where subtle cedar oak flavors are well integrated. There are some tannins that emerge on the back end, but the texture on the finish is silky with fruit flavors that linger for almost a minute. What a steal from Costco back in 2008 for less than 20 bucks. The wine is probably peaking now, but should hold for at least another 5 years.

  • Wow, time in a bottle has truly is made a difference. This is petty good, as l didn't expect this surprise. The concoction is comming togather. Substantive, dark sour cherry, oak with a good nose. I have a couple of bottles left.... l guess that l will keep and eventually drink them.

  • I would have to disagree with the previous ratings. I found the wine to have a nice complexity with balance between acidity, tannins, dark fruit, and savory flavors of cedar, smoke, leather, and chocolate.

  • My buddy really liked it, i had problems with the finish (sour). Plum, nice nose. I thought it had good fruity, but a little unbalanced and finish disappoints.
