Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 92 points

  • This is the best 2008 Pinot Noir I have come across, and I tried quite a few while barrel tasting in March and during Dry Creek passport in April. The nose has cola and a rich barbecue smoke, the mouth feel is moderately thick and luscious. Mid palate is strong with delicious red berries, and the finish is pleasing with nice acidity and lingering flavors. The wine tasted excellent right after opening, but after an hour it became a magical treat, so much so that I was requested to open another bottle after dinner. The rating by Pinot Report is 92 but I have tasted a few higher rated Pinot's that are no match for this one.

  • Medium-deep ruby color; a bit closed but some dark cherry and smoky aromas underneath; deep, rich stewed black cherry flavors with earthy and smoky notes; rich texture; good structure and balance; long finish. Deep and complex Pinot that needs time to develop in the glass.
